چکیده

The skin sea surface temperature (SST) observed by the geostationary Himawari-8 satellite and bulk SST, including four in situ observations from ships, drifters, Argo, buoys constitute more than 90,000 SST pairs used to analyze near-surface variations. From July 2015 May 2022, an average bias of 0.10 °C root mean square error 0.99 were waters adjacent Taiwan. This study effectively that effect generated ocean wind solar shortwave radiation caused occurrence a cool layer diurnal warm (DWL), 90% was range −1.55~1.71 °C. In daytime, received radiation, thus increasing causing DWL. With increase insolation, DWL became obvious. During winter, strong wind, or low may disappear turn into layer. At night, dominated effect, but daytime would remain if speed weak. However, different hydrological characteristics observation position its distance coast could affect results effect. Whether there is rapid change stratification spatial grid nearly kilometers needs be explored future.

Investigation of Geostrophic and Ekman Surface Current Using Satellite Altimetry Observations and Surface Wind in Persian Gulf and Oman Sea

The rise of satellite altimetry is a revolution in the ocean sciences. Due to its global coverage and its high resolution, altimetry classically outperforms in situ water level measurement. Ekman and geostrophic currents are large parts of the ocean’s current, playing a vital role in global climate variations. According to the classic oceanography, Ekman and geostrophic currents can be calculat...

Homogeneity Analysis of the CM SAF Surface Solar Irradiance Dataset Derived from Geostationary Satellite Observations

A satellite-based climate record of monthly mean surface solar irradiance (SIS) is investigated with regard to possible inhomogeneities in time. The data record is provided by the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT) Satellite Application Facility on Climate Monitoring (CM SAF) for the period of 1983 to 2005, covering a disk area between ±70◦ in lat...

Aerosol data assimilation using data from Himawari-8, a next-generation geostationary meteorological satellite

Himawari-8, a next-generation geostationary meteorological satellite, was launched on 7 October 2014 and became operational on 7 July 2015. The advanced imager on board Himawari-8 is equipped with 16 observational bands (including three visible and three near-infrared bands) that enable retrieval of full-disk aerosol optical properties at 10min intervals fromgeostationary (GEO) orbit. Here we s...
